E46 Power Steering Cap Gasket
These instructions are only a guide for replacing power steering cap gasket. Please read through all the instructions before attempting to install on your own. Please consult your shop manual.A leaking power steering reservoir is a common problem on early E46s. The most common fix for this is replacing the rubber gasket on the cap.
Parts Needed
Gasket Ring(Part # 32411128333) (Figure A)
Power Steering Fluid (ATF Dexron III) (Figure B)
(Check BMW for latest part #)
Tools Needed
Knife
1. Remove Cap from power steering reservoir. (Figure C)
2. Pry off the old gasket from the cap. (Figure D) Replace old Gasket with newer one.
3. Replace the cap and clean the power steering reservoir. (Figure E) Refill with ATF Dexron III if fluid levels are low.
